PHAETHON CoE engages Cypriot diaspora talent at Minds in Cyprus UK Roadshow 2026

Connecting talented Cypriot professionals abroad with international careers, meaningful impact, and opportunities to contribute to Cyprus’ future.
The PHAETHON Centre of Excellence participated in the Minds in Cyprus UK Roadshow 2026, held in London on 23 June 2026, joining a national initiative aimed at connecting talented Cypriot professionals living and working abroad with career opportunities in Cyprus.
Organised by Invest Cyprus and the Presidency of the Republic of Cyprus, the event brought together highly skilled Cypriot professionals from a wide range of sectors, providing a platform for direct engagement with organisations seeking to attract talent back to Cyprus and strengthen the country’s innovation ecosystem.
During the event, representatives of PHAETHON CoE engaged with a diverse and accomplished community of professionals working across research, engineering, technology, sustainability, innovation, and business. Many attendees came from leading international companies and globally recognised universities, highlighting the depth and breadth of Cypriot talent abroad.
Discussions focused on opportunities within Cyprus’ growing research and innovation ecosystem, particularly in areas related to sustainability, energy transition, research excellence, and innovation-driven growth. PHAETHON representatives presented the Centre’s research activities, vision, and career opportunities, while also highlighting the role of research and innovation in supporting Cyprus’ transition towards a more sustainable future.
In addition to promoting opportunities at PHAETHON, the Centre contributed to showcasing the strength and diversity of Cyprus’ research and innovation ecosystem through the CYTEx initiative and the country’s Centres of Excellence.
Through CYTEx, we were pleased to help showcase the work of the CYENS Centre of Excellence, ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence, KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence, Biobank.cy Center of Excellence in Biobanking and Biomedical Research, Cyprus Institute – Climate and Atmosphere Research Center (CARE-C), and CMMI – Cyprus Marine and Maritime Institute.
PHAETHON CoE was represented at the event by Elyssea Constantinou, Human Resources Manager, and Katerina Michail, Human Resources Officer, while Prof. Yiorgos Chrysanthou, General Director of the CYENS Centre of Excellence, also joined the CYTEX presence in London.
The Centre’s HR team was particularly encouraged by the strong interest shown in Cyprus’ research and innovation ecosystem, as well as the positive response to initiatives designed to facilitate the return of talented Cypriots from abroad.
The conversations held throughout the event reinforced the importance of creating attractive pathways for highly skilled professionals seeking opportunities that combine international careers, meaningful impact, and the chance to contribute to Cyprus’ future.
PHAETHON CoE extends its thanks to Invest Cyprus, the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and all partners supporting the Minds in Cyprus initiative for creating valuable opportunities to connect Cyprus’ global talent community with the country’s growing research, innovation, and business sectors.
