Open call is now open for the 1st PHAETHON Entrepreneurship Bootcamp at UCY!
Cyprus Seeds and the Innovation Department of the PHAETHON Centre of Excellence invite PHAETHON’s researchers to apply for the first entrepreneurship bootcamp on entrepreneurship for scientists.
Cyprus Seeds is PHAETHON’s innovation partner. It is the only non-profit, scientific innovation catalyst in Cyprus, exclusively focused on scientific innovation and research-driven teams and startups. Through a combination of mentoring, training, grants and networking with investors, they help take innovative science from the lab to the market and contribute to building the Cypriot deep-tech ecosystem.
What you can expect:
- Held from 7-9 September at the University of Cyprus.
- A 3-day, engaging boot-camp on entrepreneurship for scientists, in English.
- Coordinated by Cyprus Seeds and delivered by experienced trainers from the Technical University of Denmark, the University of Groningen and PHAETHON.
- We will cover all the key angles: from ideation to business modelling to pitching.
- We will invite real scenarios involving your own research.
- We will introduce you to successful and innovative scientific spinoff founders.
- The event will culminate in a pitching session to present your ideas.
- Above all, you will have fun and meet inspiring people, and, who knows, potential co-founders!
Ideal profile:
- Researcher or PhD candidate in a scientific or engineering field – or –
- MBA or MBE students at local business schools
- Based in a University, Centre of Excellence or Research Institute in Cyprus.
- A preference for the energy and renewables sector.
- An interest in commercialising your research.
- Fluency in English.
If you are working on something unique, novel or innovative, this training will help give you the skills and confidence to take it out of the lab and have impact in the real world.
