Technician – Renewable Energy & Telecommunications

The Field Technician supports PHAETHON’s technical operations by conducting inspections, measurements and field testing of renewable energy systems and mobile telecommunications networks throughout Cyprus. The role involves travelling to customer and project sites, operating specialised measurement equipment, and supporting engineering activities.

Reporting

The Field Technician – Renewable Energy & Telecommunications reports to the Infrastructure and Engineering Director

Key Responsibilities

Field Operations

• Conduct inspections and technical measurements of renewable energy systems.
• Perform measurements and testing on mobile telecommunications networks.
• Install and configure field monitoring equipment.
• Collect, record and report technical data.

Technical Support

• Assist engineers during site visits, inspections and commissioning activities.
• Carry out basic maintenance and troubleshooting of technical equipment.
• Ensure field equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.

Administration

• Maintain accurate field records and measurement reports.
• Follow technical procedures and quality standards.

Health & Safety

• Comply with health and safety requirements during fieldwork.
• Ensure the safe use and transport of technical equipment.

Required Qualifications

• Secondary School Diploma or Technical School qualification.
• Good computer skills.
• Valid Category B driving licence.
• Willingness to travel frequently throughout Cyprus.

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of electrical engineering.
• Previous experience in electrical or technical fieldwork.
• Experience with renewable energy systems or telecommunications networks.
• Familiarity with technical measurement equipment.

Employment Terms

A one (1) year full-time fixed-term employment contract will be offered, including a six (6) month probation period, with the possibility of renewal subject to organisational needs, funding availability, and satisfactory performance.
