CIRCULAR-PV Brings Clean Energy Research to Schools in Cyprus

On 20 and 21 April 2026, Maria Hadjipanayi, Researcher at the PV Technology Laboratory of the University of Cyprus, participated in the “Researchers in Schools” initiative as part of activities linked to Earth Day 2026.

During visits to Gymnasium Makedonitissas School and Pancyprian Gymnasium in Nicosia, Maria introduced students to the world of research, clean energy, solar energy, and photovoltaic technologies through her presentation “The World of Research – Learning about Clean Energy.”

The interactive sessions introduced students to the world of scientific research and explored the transition towards clean energy, the potential of solar energy, and the role of photovoltaic technologies in creating a more sustainable future. Students also learned how photovoltaic technologies are studied for their performance, stability, reliability, and long-term operation under real environmental conditions.

Through outreach activities such as Researchers in Schools, CIRCULAR-PV supports knowledge exchange and helps inspire the next generation to engage with science, renewable energy, sustainability, and the circular development of future photovoltaic technologies.

Thank you to the participating schools, teachers, and students for their enthusiasm, engaging discussions, and interest in clean energy research.
